The mozart effect Essay -- essays research papers fc

The Mozart Effect Does classical music really help you study better? Many recent research studies show that music idoes in fact improve cognitive thinking. In 1993, researchers at the University of California at Irvine discovered the so-called Mozart Effect - that college students â€Å"who listened to ten minutes of Mozart's Sonata for Two Pianos in D major K448 before taking an IQ test scored nine points higher† than when they had sat in silence or listened to relaxation tapes. Other studies have also indicated that it doesn’t matter the artist; people retain information better if they hear classical or baroque music while studying. The most easily influenced stage of human life is early childhood, therefore it is encouraged that children listen to classical music. The researchers at Irvine recently found that preschoolers who had received eight months of music lessons scored â€Å"eighty percent higher on object-assembly tasks† than did other children who received no musical training. It was concluded that students who listened to music had high a greater ability to think abstractly and to visualize. These tasks are necessary to understand difficult theorems and equations in math and engineering. German scientists discovered an amazing difference in musicians who have the ability to recognize notes by ear and who began studying music before the age of seven. The plenum temporal, which is the area on the brain's left side that processes sound signals, mostly language, is three times the average size. The age of the musician matters because the brain generally stops growing after age 10. Besides being beneficial for young children, music is useful to many adolescents, especially to those with learning problems. Exposing music constantly to children with severe learning deficiencies has been known to show positive results. A study was done by the researchers at Irvine on a seven-year-old girl with an autistic condition, which caused her to use gestures and occasional words instead of full sentences. The young girl's speaking ability â€Å"improved remarkably† after she had lessons in a class that combined sounds from a piano with dialect. College students can also benefit from classical music. To test this, college students were exposed to three different types of music and were given standard reasoning tests, each for ten minutes. The research showed that the scores ... ...one energy to work out; listening to a soft, relaxing song might put a person to sleep; and listening to Mozart may enhance â€Å"spatial reasoning† and memory in the brain. Whatever the situation may be, music seems to have a benefiting effect.  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Bibliography 1. Campbell, Don. The Mozart Effect: Tapping the Power of Music. How To Manage Conflict Essay

Managing conflict is never easy, whether you’re trying to resolve a conflict of your own or trying to help two people settle a dispute. The most important thing to know is that the longer you let the situation continue, the worse it’ll be when it’s time to resolve it. So take a deep breath, maintain your cool, and get ready to find a solution that can make everyone (reasonably) happy. 1. Make a plan for meeting. If two people are genuinely in conflict and you want to help them — or they need your help — then you should plan a time to meet that would make everybody happy. Of course, you may just walk into a conflict and have to solve it on the spur of the moment, but hopefully you have some time to plan in advance. If so, pick a time and place that works for both people, and make sure that they are both invested in solving the conflict. If there’s real trouble, then the sooner you can get together, the better. Ad 2. Let each person state his or her side of the story. If you are in charge of managing a conflict, whether it’s because you’re a manager or because you’re helping two people figure out their issues, you have to be an active listener. Let each person express his or her position and listen with compassion and care until each person has stated his or her feelings and desires. Don’t let the people interrupt each other and make it clear that each person will take turns fully explaining him or her self.[1] Make sure that both people are really listening to each other instead of just waiting until their turn to have their say. If necessary, have one person repeat some of the main points the other person made, so it’s clear that they both have an understanding of how each person is feeling. 3. 3 Make it clear that you are there to help resolve, not solve. The people who are in conflict must figure out how to move past their problems on their own, not look to you for a magical solution that will make all of their problems go away. You should make this clear from the start so both parties know that they have to work hard and listen actively before they can move  forward. You are there to mediate so the conflict doesn’t get out of control and so that both parties can look at the situation with more objectivity and control, but that doesn’t mean you will provide them with an answer. 4 Maintain your objectivity. Even if you think that Lucy is obviously in the right and Mary is 100% wrong, it is not your position to say so. If you jump in on Lucy’s side, then Mary will feel like you’re both ganging up against her and the conflict will be even further from a resolution. Instead, keep your own personal opinions and ideas out of it and treat each person’s perspective with compassion and respect. Even if one person is more â€Å"right† than the other, they both still have to reach a solution that can reasonably please both of them. If you’re mediating a conflict, then you should pay equal attention to both people. Let each person spend about the same amount of time speaking and make points that support both people instead of just focusing on one person or the other. Maintain a neutral expression, and try not to look put off or skeptical if one person is stating something you don’t agree with at all. 5. 5 Be a calming force. One of your primary tasks is to help both people keep their cool. Manage their stress levels, their anger, and their emotions to the best of your ability. If someone is getting too heated, raising his or her voice, and getting visibly angry or upset, take a five-minute break or ask that person to take a few deep breaths and wait until he or she can speak calmly. You can only find a solution if both people stay calm and can see clearly.[2] If the conversation is not going down a constructive path, and both people have resorted to name calling and cursing and just criticizing each other back and forth without getting anywhere, then you should intervene and get the conversation back on track. You can say something like, â€Å"Let’s focus on what’s important here,† or â€Å"We’re just not getting anywhere with this kind of talk.† 6 Figure out the source of the tension. Once both people have stated their  cases, you can help them figure out what is really at stake. They may think that they are really angry at each other because of financial tension, but they may really be upset because of a lack of communication. Be as specific. Have each person discuss all of the things that are troubling him or her and see if you can really find the root of the problem. Be patient. It may take a bit of digging — and some pain — to get there. If you can put it in simple terms, something like, â€Å"Bob feels that Mary is micromanaging his project† or â€Å"Sara feels like Jim doesn’t spend enough quality time with her,† then you can begin to tackle the problem better than if you just knew that the two people were angry with each other. 7 Work together to find a solution. Once you have all agreed on the source of the tension and the problem that is at hand, you can begin to find a solution. Remember that both people do have to agree about the nature of the real problem to be able to find an effective solution. It may not be readily apparent, and you may need some perseverance and creativity to get there, but eventually, you should be able to find a way to make both people (reasonably) happy. Here are some potential solutions you may find and ways to state them gracefully: â€Å"It seems like both of you are having trouble living together. Sara may be a bit too focused on being neat, while Mary may be a bit careless when it comes to doing chores. To solve the problem, you should set out a list of guidelines for how you can both keep the house clean without running into trouble. If you both agree to do the things on the list, then you can stay happy in your living space.† â€Å"It seems that Bob has been managing Clark a little too closely. To avoid this in the future, Bob and Clark can discuss the objectives of a project in great detail and can decide on times when they can both check in about the status of the project; this will make Bob feel at ease about where the project is going, while giving Clark a little bit of breathing room.† 8 Make a plan. Once you’ve found a resolution for the problem, you can set out specific guidelines for making it happen. Remember that both people have to be invested in finding this solution. You can set a timeline for achieving  these goals and have both people put it in writing so they feel that it will actually happen. Here are some ways it can happen: â€Å"Mary and Sara should sit down and discuss which things in the house have to stay clean at all times, and which parts should be cleaned occasionally for an extra nice touch. Once you agree on the daily chores that really need to be done, you can make a chart of rotating tasks.† â€Å"Bob and Clark should meet for an hour before every new project, taking at least two detailed pages of notes so that Clark has enough direction to go off on his own. They should meet every three days for half an hour to discuss the progress of the project.† 9 If both parties agree to disagree, help them part amicably. Maybe neither person, or one of the people, is unwilling to budge, and after much discussion, you haven’t moved past square one. If that’s the case, then you should still make it so that one person understands where the other is coming from and that they can leave the situation without extra hostility or tension. Maybe Bob can’t help but breathe down Clark’s neck or Sara will always be messy no matter what; if that’s the case, then they have to find a way to coexist or make a smart plan for parting ways. Consider the fact that maybe both people just aren’t ready to resolve the conflict and need more time to cool off. If you feel like the argument is getting nowhere because both people are too heated and emotional, not because they refuse to budge from their positions, then consider asking both people reschedule your meeting for a time when both parties can think more clearly. 10 End the conversation on a positive note. Whether both parties have reached a healthy conclusion or have agreed to disagree, you should end the situation on an optimistic note so neither person feels defeated. If both parties are feeling friendly, go out for a coffee or a beer; if both parties are still very angry, try to diffuse the situation with a bit of humor and see if they’ll at least shake hands and stay cordial. If emotions are too heated, then it’s time for everyone to back off for a bit, but if the vibe is positive, make the people feel good about having the conversation. Remind both parties that, however unpleasant it may be to discuss a conflict, that  they have been mature and done the right thing by deciding to resolve the situation instead of staying angry or avoiding the tension. Method 2 of 2: Managing Your Own Conflicts 1. Face the conflict head-on. If you’re dealing with a conflict of your own, then the worst thing you can do is run and hide, waiting for the conflict to get bigger and bigger until it’s almost impossible to resolve it. Sure, conflict is no fun, whether you’re butting heads with a co-worker or your long-term boyfriend, but remind yourself that if you brush your problems under the rug, then they are guaranteed to get worse. So take a deep breath and accept that you have to deal with it.[3] That being said, pick your battles. If you feel like your boyfriend has been neglecting you, then speak up; but if you feel like you don’t like the way he loads the dishwater, maybe it’s better to hold off. 2 Don’t tell everyone about it. It’s okay to seek advice from a close friend or another co-worker if you genuinely don’t know what to do. But if you feel the urge to complain to every person in sight about the conflict just so you can gossip or get some anger off your chest, then you’re only getting yourself worked up and possibly putting your relationship in jeopardy if the other person finds out about what you’ve been saying. If you do need advice, then talk to just one or two people whom you really trust so you can have some meaningful direction.[4] Think about it; how would you feel if you heard your co-worker was telling everyone in the office about your problems without talking to you about it? That kind of behavior is guaranteed to make you feel worse. 3 Use â€Å"I† statements. â€Å"I† statements are crucial for solving a conflict as objectively as possible. â€Å"I† statements make your feelings and motives clear and can help the other person see your side of the story without feeling accused or persecuted; â€Å"You† statements make the other party feel like he or  she is on the chopping block and will make him or her feel much more defensive. Here are some ways to make useful â€Å"I† statements: â€Å"I feel like we haven’t been spending enough time together† is more effective than â€Å"You are always neglecting me.† â€Å"I feel like I’ve been picking up the majority of the work on the project,† is more effective than â€Å"You have been making me do all of the work on this project.† 4 Be specific. This doesn’t mean you have to list the 90 things that the person has done to hurt you or to cause the conflict. In fact, this kind of behavior will only make the person feel worse, like he’s being picked apart. Instead, stick to two or three concrete scenarios that can illustrate what you mean to make the person see the situation from your perspective. Here are some examples: â€Å"I was really hurt when you left my birthday party early to hang out with your friends instead of spending more time with me.† â€Å"I spent ten hours on the Roberts report while you only worked on the cover page.†

Importance of Extracurricular Activities

Importance of Extracurricular Activities Many students cannot understand why professors urge them to get involved into different extracurricular activities and how this may be beneficial for them. In fact, they think that this is just another way of making their life more complicated and a way of preventing them from having fun. Of course, it isn’t so, and let me explain why. The matter is, young people have to do everything possible to develop themselves in different spheres. If they pay proper attention to studying, it is not enough for successful academic career. They have to develop their socializing, organizational, analytic and many other skills, for the purpose of which these extracurricular activities are developed. The initial thing that every student has to understand is that he should choose the area, which will be most interesting for him and that he should develop his skills in this field intensively. The sooner he will be able to suit the needs of the given vocation, the better it is for his future career. Of course, it is better to start getting familiarized with all the peculiarities of some subject before you start to seek job with minimum practical knowledge. Students have to realize that teachers and the whole order of life in college are developed not to make his life harder and spoil his most interesting years. Instead, everything is designed to prepare him for the future life, to show him how to stand competition and reach success. Without this basis it is very hard to fit the rapid flow of life and start living completely independently and achieve success.

Far from Empire - German Colonial History and its Memorials

Europe’s long and sinister colonial history can still be experienced in many places. Forced-upon European heritage, such as languages or the ominous right to militarily intervene, are found all over the globe. The different colonial narratives of the British Empire, the Spanish Navy or Portuguese traders are well known and often still glorified as a grand national past. Outside of Germany, the country’s colonial history is not referred to often within Germany it is a rather sore topic. Being overshadowed by the two World Wars, it is up to recent historical studies to fully bring it into the light. Even if – in terms of gaining territory, compared to its rivals - Germany’s colonial endeavors weren’t exactly successful, German colonial forces are guilty of terrible crimes against peoples indigenous to their colonies. As are so many European histories of the 17th,18th, 19th and 20th century, the German one is not short of gruesome acts committed in the name of forging a global empire. German East Africa and German-Samoa Even though Germans were part of the European Colonial Expansion right from the beginning, the engagement of Germany as a formal colonial power started its endeavors rather late. One reason was that the foundation of the German Empire in 1871, before that there was no â€Å"Germany† that could, as a nation, colonize anyone. Maybe that is another reason for the pressing necessity to acquire colonies, which seems to have been felt by German officials. From 1884 on, Germany quickly incorporated African colonies such as Togo, Cameroon, Namibia and Tanzania (some under different names) into the Empire. A few Pacific Islands and a Chinese colony followed. The German colonial officers aimed at being very efficient colonizers, which resulted in very ruthless and brutal behavior towards the natives. This, of course, sparked rebellions and uprisings, which the oppressors, in turn, brutally put down. In German South-West Africa (Namibia), the German leaders attempted to segregate all inhabitants by a German upper class and an African working class – following an ideology of deep biologist racism. This kind of segregation was not limited to German colonies. All of European colonialism shows this attribute. But, one can say that German forces were the most efficient as the examples of Namibia and, a Generation later, the occupation of Eastern Europe show. German colonialism was driven by heavy armed conflicts, some of which are rightfully called genocide (e.g. the so-called Herero Wars, which lasted from ca. 1904 until 1907), as German attacks and the following famines were responsible for the death of an estimated 80% of all Herero. The German colonies in the â€Å"South Sea† also fell victim to colonial violence. German battalions were even part of ending the Boxer Rebellion in China. The first period of German colonialism ended after World War I when its protectorates were taken from the Reich, as it was unfit to be a colonial power. But the Third Reich brought a second period of course. A surge of colonial memorials throughout the 1920s, ’30s, and 40s prepared the public for a dawning new colonial age. One, that quickly ended with the victory of the Allied Forces in 1945. Memories and Memorials - Germany’s Colonial Past is Surfacing The last few years of public debate and discourse have made it clear: Germany’s colonial past can no longer be ignored and has to be duly addressed. Local initiatives successfully fought for the recognition of colonial crimes (e.g. through having the designations of streets changed, that bore the name of colonial leaders) and historians emphasized how history and collective memory itself is often a construct rather than an organically grown development. The self-definition of a society or community is created through delimitation on the one hand and the construction of a common past through notions of unifying grandeur, such as military victories, on the other. The composition of the latter is supported by memorials, memorabilia, as well as historic artifacts. In the case of German colonial history, these items are vastly overshadowed the Third Reich and are often only viewed in its context. Recent history and the present show that there is still a long way to go when it comes to processing Germany’s colonial history. Many streets still carry the names of colonial commanders guilty of war crimes, and many memorials still show German colonialism in an exotic, rather romantic light.

Self Care Activity Of Meditation - 1378 Words

There is nothing good that I can say about today. I have felt sick and nauseated all day. The events that occurred in this city today are unspeakable. At first, I felt shocked, when the media released the name of the shooter, I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. Interpersonal Communication in Workplace †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Interpersonal Communication in Workplace. Answer: Introduction: The multivariate analysis process is the statistical technique is used to keep the right information of the data. The analysis is obtained to keep the track of the right data in a meaningful manner. It is usually used for the market research, optimization process, the development process and the recruitment process. Various tools are adopted for the recruitment in the multivariate analysis. The tools includes the control of the quality, the product development tool, the spectroscopy and chemo metrics (Chatfied and Collins 2013). The company must apply the multivariate analysis, which has different aspects to assess the performance while recruiting (Jiang, et al., 2012). The application of it includes the decrease of large number of variables to a comparatively smaller number of variables. It further includes the selection of smaller set of variables and declining the larger set of variables. The application also includes the integration of different data. The application cannot be co mpleted without the creation of variable factors, which is treated as uncorrelated variables. It is basically used to calculate the effects of the variables. It is based on multivariate statistics. Multivariate model is used to estimate a single regression model. This is used to have multiple angles. This model implies that in the real world there are multiple angles for every product, every human being, every process and even every opinion. This model judges the multiple angles of the different factors. During recruitment, the same model is applied. The different angles of perspectives are applied during the recruitment of employees, which is quite important. All the angles of a recruit should be checked and evaluated. Tolerance for ambiguity is the level to which an individual can tolerate any situation. It measures his comfort level with the degree of uncertainty and with situation, which is unpredictable, the situation of conflict. It is the measure to judge the level of intolerance of a person. While recruiting the international managers it is important to judge the tolerance level of him. In an organization, there will be many uncomfortable situations where the manger needs a high tolerance power to resolve the issues. While recruiting the managers it is therefore necessary to evaluate his tolerance power, as being the manger of any organization it is his job to resolve many serious issues. Therefore, he needs to have a high tolerance level. This is the first and foremost criteria of recruiting a manager (Dewaele and Wei 2013) Behavioral flexibility The behavioral flexibility is the flexibility of the behavior of an individual. The manager of any organization must be flexible to any situation. He should be able to create a difference with his behavior. It will help in the betterment of the organization. The manager should be curious to solve the problems and to manage the issues of the company. He should be flexible to all the environments and the grave situations. He should have right intentions and should be clear about the outcomes. While recruiting, this factor should be checked well. The manger is a kind of leader. His behavior is therefore of immense importance (Jiang, et al. 2012) Another ground on which the mangers should be recruited is the ground of nonjudgementalism. The role of the manger is of immense important in an organization. The managers should not be judgmental about something. It is not desirable on his part to pre-judge any situation. He must be neutral. He must be able to infuse positivity in the employees. This can be done by staying neutral. The manager must motivate each employees and he must not be partial and biased. He should be not be misjudging any situation. This factor should be kept in mind of the recruiters while recruiting the international managers. If the managers fail to perform well and if they fail to deliver their duties in an appropriate manner, they become a means of mockery to their employees. The employees no longer are respected in the company. Therefore, it is extremely important for the managers to be nonjudgmental. The managers should be recruited under this category (Jiang, et al. 2012) Ethnocentrism and intercultural sensitivity The manger of an organization should be capable enough to make acquaintance with all type of culture. It is important for the manager to respect all the cultures. It includes the communication skills, the education and the psychology to respect and get mingled with other cultures. He should not be biased and it is not desirable for him to make perceptions regarding any particular community. The manger should have the ability to develop emotions towards all community and he should be able to shoe his attribute to multi culture. The manger should be able to produce effective response to all the cultures. This is the prime criteria on which the international managers should be recruited (Chatfied and Collins 2013) The interpersonal skills are the skills that are used by an individual while interacting and while progressing a conversation with others. This is a major criterion while recruiting an international manager because an international manager is required to look after the business of the company globally (Bedwell, W.L., Fiore, S.M. and Salas 2014). He must be having the proper skill to interact and communicate with all types of people. Standard interpersonal skills are required in case of many positions in any organization. Therefore this skill is important in a manager to carry forward the business of the globally and ensure the smooth running of the company. Many job seekers mentions about the interpersonal skills in their resume, as this is a point of major importance in the working fields. In spite of having the skill, it should eventually be nurtured and it should be improved and developed with time. Being a good absorber of any lessons and training and being a good listener is the ways to improve the interpersonal skills of an individual. The manger must be extrovert and he must have the capability to interact with the employees, which will serve as the criteria of judging his interpersonal skills (DeKay 2012). Macbeth 13 Essay Madness may be â€Å"mental incapacity caused by an unmentionable injury. † Such wounds often are not easily perceived but may be revealed in time of stress. Hamlet’s question, â€Å"have you a daughter?†(Act II. Sc2 182) Polonius about the Prince’s emotional state. What is hidden will surely be told to Cloudius by his adviser. Laertes’ search for revenge is sharper proof that madness in degrees of publicity causes harm to the observers. Claudius promise â€Å"no wind of blame†(Act IV, Sc.7,66) once Laertes kills Hamlet; perhaps this is what the uncle has sought all along for himself. Ophelia has a unique, very powerful form of madness; she seems caught as a â€Å"baker’s daughter,(Act IV, Sc. 5, 42) between memories of her father and Hamlet who ought have spokedn to her of events on â€Å"Valentine’s day.(Act IV, Sc 5, 48) She is doubly hexed and the madness she has infects the whole court. Once a person’s mental state has been studied in public, there is no telling the injuries which may affect the viewers. Ever since the death of King Hamlet young Hamlet has been what appeared to be in a state of madness. In a discussion between Hamlet and Polonius Hamlet questions Polonius by asking him â€Å"have you a daughter.†(Act II, Sc.2, 182) In this discussion Hamlet shows antic behavior towards Polonius by mocking him when Hamlet would usually show great respect for him because of he age and heis high position in the court. This sudden question to Polonius has caused Polonius to believe that Hamlet has a form of love-sickness and that Polonius is sure to tell Claudius of his condition. Hamlet also accuses Polonius of being the â€Å"Jephthah, judge of Israel,†(Act II,Sc.2, 399) meaning that Polonius would put his country in front of his daughter. Hamlet has now convinced Polonius that he is in a state of madness because he knows that Polonius cares for his daughter very much and would never put her second. By convincing Polonius that he has no consideration for the well-being of others, Hamlet is then hoping that Polonius will tell the court of his emotional madness. Unlike Hamlet, Laertes has developed a different kind of madness, a madness that is controlled by revenge. When Laertes is talking to Claudius, Laertes gets so much revenge building up inside him against Hamlet that Laertes now wants to â€Å"cut his throat.†(Act 4,Sc.7,125) Laertes’ behavior is caused by the sudden death of his father who was without a due ceremony, and his sister who has been driven mad, has contributed to the madness that is being built up inside Laertes. This madness grows even stronger when Claudius promises â€Å"no wind of blame†(Act IV.Sc7,66) when Laertes kills Hamlet. With Claudius being the puppet holder and Laertes being the puppet, Claudius turns Laertes into a savage beast to avenge for his fathers death; perhaps this is what the Claudius has planned all along. Laertes has a form of madness that is escalating because Laertes knows that he has the capabilities and motivation to act on what he believes on. Ophelia has a unique form of madness unlike Hamlet’s and Laertes’ because it a mixture of love and hate. An example of hate is when she sings about a â€Å"bakers daughter.†(Act IV,Sc.5,42) Ophelia is referring to the way her father used to treat her before the tragic incident of his death. A love within her madness is when she speaks about the events on â€Å"Valentine’s day.†(Act IV, Sc.5,48) When Ophelia speaks about Valentines day she is referring to the events of romance that she was denied. Ophelia’s madness is brought on by her lack of being able to demonstrate any maturity in trying to cope with her losses and in return can only inflict her madness on the court. .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .postImageUrl , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:hover , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:visited , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:active { border:0!important; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:active , .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890 .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u3b849032fc6b493a5b25f1b464666890:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Trifles Essay By stating that Hamlet could have controlled his fraudulent madness, he then had the capability of controlling his conscious mind into acting traditional. Where Laertes was very influential by others and had no real control over the mental state he was developing by the sway of Claudius. Ophelia was the most innocent victim of all because she was the side affect of everyone else’s actions and had no idea that she was mentally disintegrating. It can be noticed that within each of these three people there can be no reassurance on what the affect they may have on others due to their mental state in public.
